At Astilleros y Construcciones, at Meira-Moaña (Pontevedra)
On the first months of 1982 were delivered to Naviera Asón two sister ships built by Astilleros y Construcciones at Meira-Moaña (Pontevedra), where they are seen on this photo. The first one was called Berta de Perez, but left the shipyard as Ranga, because she was chartered to an Icelandic company. She was lost on the Irish coast on her maiden voyage to Iceland. She found a strong storm and had problems with the main engine, reason why on 12/March/1982 they tried to arrive to Dingle Bay but she ran aground on a rocky cliff. She was completely destroyed, but all the crew managed to save themselves, part of them climbing the cliff.

The second was named Lucia de Perez. She was chartered to the same Icelandic company, replacing her sister, being renamed Hvita. When the charter finished she anchored at Santander during January and February of 1986, until being sold to Naviera Guadiaro being renamed Island of Tenerife and later Aranjuez. On 1988 she was sold by the Banco de Crédito Industrial to a foreign company. She was scrapped on 2014.
